Nuestra Amiga e Historiadora Susana Boragno, ha hecho un trabajo para Revista “Mi Barrio”, sobre la Fábrica de Tabaco SATI, ubicada en el actual Predio Ex Agrocom.
LA FABRICA SATI 3º Parte
Como continúa la historia
En el año 1956, el gobierno de Italia obliga a la venta de la fábrica. La compraron una red de mayoristas de cigarrillos, golosinas como Billone, Morandeira, García Hnos. (Cigoper). Muchos obreros cobraron sus indemnizaciones con acciones de la nueva empresa S.A.T.I. (Sociedad Anónima Tabacos Industrializados). Unos años
anduvo bien, cuando la situación ya era inmanejable, se redujeron en un galpón en Tinogasta 5540. Las maquinarias las mandaron para Salta, desapareciendo de la actividad local. En 1976, las instalaciones la compró la firma Agrocom, distribuidora de productos alimenticios y de limpieza. El 23 de diciembre de 1996 el barrio se vio sorprendido y angustiado,… la primera fábrica de toscanos del país se “ hacia humo”. Ahora el fuego quemaba la silueta de una fábrica que fue el orgullo y el trabajo de tantas toscaneras que aun no la olvidan. La manzana se ha vuelto baldío, mientras el Barrio pide y espera una decisión sobre su nuevo destino.
En el recuerdo de su personal
Redención Diaz rememora…”, fui despalilladora, la Pupi era la encargada,…pesaba y anotaba la producción…a veces el olor a tabaco nos embriagaba… tenía los dedos cortados y teñidos de marrón, como me sangraban me hacía unos dedines de cuero para el dedo índice. Después pasé a empaquetadora de tabaco para pipa…
Dionisia de Dios cuenta…trabajábamos con mi hermana Justa, con delantal blanco y cofia, no se tenía que ver el cabello…a veces nos poníamos barbijo, el tabaco despedía un olor muy fuerte, los pulmones se afectaban …el horario era de 7a 11 y de 12 a 16 horas, me quedaba tiempo para ir a almorzar a casa…mi máquina se llamaba La Moli, la entendía tanto que cuando se descomponía, yo misma la reparaba, me pagaban por eso, los gerentes eran buenos, nos trataban bien.
Victorio Cavazzoli, nació en Brasil cuando la SABRATI estaba funcionando en San Pablo, su papá José, gerente industrial, entendía mucho sobre los sabores del tabaco, conocía la mezcla, cuando recorría la fábrica, hacía parar la máquina después de probar la mezcla … “a esto le falta tal cosa” era un buen catador,…nunca más quiso volver a Italia a pesar que , todos los años, tenía pasajes gratis para ir con su familia … había puesto un cartel a la entrada que decía “ torna el sole ma non el tempo” una reflexión sobre que las cosas había que hacerlas ya. Eran casi todas quintas como la de Delpidio que vendía pollos, frutas etc, con la fábrica creció el barrio. Sobre Beiró esta el Club Dopo Lavoro, donde los obreros iban después del trabajo a tomar una copa y jugar unas cartas…habían venido muchos italianos después de la guerra, era una proporción de 5 contra 2 argentinos. Una vez visitó la S.A.T.I. el cantante italiano, Nicola Paone y causó un gran revuelo…
Se ha señalado los beneficios económicos y sociales que la fábrica trajo al barrio, pero es necesario destacar también, los daños que el tabaco ocasiona en la salud de la gente.
